Synopsis

By Timberlake Wertenbaker. Directed by Art Devine.

In 1788, 9 British convict ships, 2 escorts and 3 supply ships landed in what was to become Sydney, Australia.  They were the first of thousands of petty criminals  sent to build the British colony.  In this award winning, gripping tale, nine of these prisoners and their jailers seek relief, redemption and escape by putting on a play.  Wonderful characters and brilliant writing, this story will transport you.
